The Bubbleator was a large, bubble-shaped hydraulic elevator with transparent acrylic glass walls operated from an elevated chair built for the 1962 World's Fair in Seattle. These transparent walls gave the illusion of looking through an actual 'soap bubble' by refracting light to obtain a rainbow-like effect for the riders inside.

#Seattle
@DrOinFLA I remember when they replaced it with a conventional square hydraulic lift. The #bubbleator was still in use when I was in gradeschool, but it kept breaking down when we'd ride it.
@spacehobo
I rode it in the 70s, after it had been moved to the Center House. it only connected two floors, very short ride. In 1984 they got rid of it to create the Children's Museum.
@DrOinFLA I think the image you used here was one I remembered from a #Viewmaster slide or something.
